Welcome back my fellow travelers of the Road of Mystery, ohhhhhh you seekers of the strange and somewhat deranged! I welcome you back to the sorcerers notebook part: Nobody fucking cares anymore.
I am your host, alleged left hand path legend lenny duncan. Today we make the case for something I have been pointing at and ranting about actually with a ton of innuendo and subtext:
That it’s time to believe in your emergent self.
The first thing is you have to believe in I do not mean that you should believe in a cast-in-stone self, it in you, or the edicts of some God, God’s, Orisha, or sacred text or oral epistemology.
I don't even really want you to believe me.
I want you to believe in your self’s emergence. In your own emerging, or perhaps rather you developed a sense of inquisitiveness, in your own experience of reality. I want you to to question the shifting nature of reality and or rather the way we all seem to be questioning that same separate – yet shared – experience. Little by little. Piece by piece. Inquire.
Since March of 2020 when you first realized you were locked in the house with all you had wrought. All you had rendered into this world. All you had painted around you as a masterpiece of family, love, defiance, or survival. : You discovered that suddenly could be washed away in an instant. It felt like in those early weeks as we watched the world slowly crawl to a much needed stop, it felt like welike that we were entering a new world. Frightening, full of fear, smoke, new evils, perils and adversaries that were empowered with almost infernal powers.
At the time many of us either turned back to,( or started to explore) earth based practices.
These old ways, the traditional practices that gave us access to the antithesis of what modernity told us would be salvation said would save us. These practices contrasted with modernity’s feeding us the solution of Zoom, Amazon, and a very weird online parodiesy of our lives. This punched us in the face hard enough to us to reveal that eventually revealed that things were not as they seemed. em for what they were.
It’s as if the pandemic created almost like a great wave of energy that cameenergy came and washed away the pretense of who we all were. It was awith the pandemic almost as setting in which something else was happening, something new s. Struggling to be born.
I propose what we are feeling continues: is the beginnings of cosmic birth and divine labor pains.
It is only a uniquely american belief that Divinity, and the realms that Divinity exists are without pain. Without struggle. An after and ethereal realm free of conflict, or intrigue. An astral suburban paradise – probably with a Smoothie King and Planet Fitness ensconced in clouds or some shit. Maybe a 24/7 Chis Tomlin show. I have no idea really. Aand as a former pastor, this idea of conflict-free realms that used to scare the shit out of me. The strange, awful, disembodied visions of what the “kin-dom of G-d” would be like.
Over the next few posts, I will start to lay out the case that we have in fact entered into a new world, or rather, the birth of one. It’s important to remember: Birth is a bloody, shitty mess.
I believe we have literally entered throughcrossed the a door into a new cosmo’. Wes and are witnessing the birth of a new earth. I believe that doors to other worlds exist, and that they not only that, but are open. As I type. As you read.
Right here. Right now. TI also think although access to this new world and, this new Divinity being borne in an among us is universal, many of us don't want to continuecontinued to sustain theed work to perceive it., and The resistance will be difficult to sustain, becauseI think this difference in perception of reality, this breakdown of shared American ontology, meaning, will become more and more only make this all more apparent. No matter your tradition, moments like the pandemic will keep coming..
If you are Evangelical, get ready for more “outpourings of the Spirit” and revivals. Also maybe Measles. If you are a mystic, get ready for more purpose, peace, power, and vision than you may want. Moon babies, are you ready to glow? Radical Christ followers on the streets, get ready for the streets to swell, but don't be surprised if it feels more like Mardi Gras than revolution. I would argue Mardi Gras is the only revolution worth having.
But I mean literally, esoterically, spiritually, theological, and most importantly: ontologically a new world is within our grasp.
I will spend the next few posts laying out exactly what I mean.
