The point of the article isnt about you shouldn't use this indigenous science. It's about the misuse of it. No-one is saying you shouldn't do some stuff, or that Europeans didn't have stuff that was effective. I am saying find that, and be aware there are people in prison for life for the thing you will be able to get at a mall soon. One of my professors is Sami and initiated he would agree, without a ceremonial container there are ethical questions.
Totally agree. Context and privilege matter. I even bristle at Stoner Culture because I think it puts cannabis in a not necessarily helpful box of intentional excess removed from context and flaunting access to excess is rooted in privilege.
