Earlier today I sent this letter to the community I have had the honor to serve, I share it with you as a hint at things to come here. Thank you for sticking with this newsletter through a rough period! Greetings in the name of the one who calls you my Beloved, the radical rabbi put to death by the very same systems we have resisted together in true faith. I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the one who knew no home, not even the tomb, Amen.
I am broken-hearted to read this. Please please know that you have touched and enlightened so many of us. God be with you and bless you on this new path; I know you are following God's call as it now appears for you. Countless prayers rise up.
God continue to give you wild creativity, deep compassion, and vulnerable courage. I’m a cheer-leader for many PhD candidates and rejoice that you will have this time of free study, teaching, reflection, and action.

Grateful to have shared some times on the search for mutual liberation. I, too, was changed last year, and especially those nights in July. I completely understand and honor your decision, Brother Rabbi. Having existed a bit longer in this world and society, I know that your belief system and works are for good, yet counterintuitive to this current New World view. Since the 16th century Western European culture has not allowed a true space for someone like you, an authentic and encouraging spiritual being.
I hope, pray and have faith that you will walk your true calling. I was blessed to meet and talk with in Seattle at the Vitality training and you told me about Dear Church. God's love and peace be with you always. ❤️🙏🏽✌🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

Dear Lenny, am I to understand that you will be coming to the GTU in Berkeley? If so, I'd like to extend an open invitation to come worship with us at University Lutheran Chapel. Your writings have been educational and inspirational to many of us, and I am sure I speak for the rest of the council to say that we would be enthusiastic to learn how we can support your continued discernment and mission.
When I so yearned and needed to be called "beloved", and welcomed without question, you were there. As your path emerges now, I humbly offer tender mercies as I cheer you on, beloved.
I know that chasm. I’m laity, not clergy, but suspect most clergy know it too and cannot speak of it because they are tied to the structure that makes their lives ‘work’ - home, family, paycheck, etc. I understand that struggle and respect it. What you have decided to do is powerful. The pandemic led me to much contemplation and I have found benefit in in Peter Rollins, Irish philosopher and theologian and his work.
